Peer Recovery Support Specialist

We are currently looking for qualified candidates to fill several Peer Recovery Support Specialist positions in the Lucas, Wood & Hancock and Four County areas.  This position is responsible for supporting others in recovery from a substance use disorder.  They will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery.  The Peer Recovery Support Specialist must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences and develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide recovery education to individuals for every phase of their recovery from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization and sustained recovery maintenance.

  • Provide a model for both people in recovery and on staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible.

  • Assist individuals with identifying their personal interests, goals, strengths and weaknesses regarding recovery.

  • Assist individuals with developing their own plan for advancing their recovery.

  • Promot self-advocacy by assisting individuals with expressing their voice, needs, goals and objectives.



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ohio MHAS Peer Recovery Supporter Certification


  • CDCA

  • Valid driver's license issued in the state of Ohio

  • Ability to be insured through ARM's insurance carrier
